Do you realize that there you are here for a reason? Yes. There is purpose to your being—God-given purpose. Whatever you are doing, there should be purpose in it from God. If you are in youth ministry or any kind of ministry, you are there because of God’s call. Thus, there is specific purpose to this ministry that you are doing. Why is it specific? Because there is something only you can do that is aligned with your God-given purpose. How are you fulfilling it?
Know Your God-Given Purpose
Now, the question about fulfilling your God-given purpose assumes not only that you have purpose, but also that you know it. Do you know your purpose? It’s going to be hard to fulfill it if you don’t know it. Or, perhaps you have forgotten it!
Go to God. Seek God for your unique, God-given purpose. Do not rest until God reveals it to you.
Fulfilling Your God-Given Purpose
A purpose is not be a static thing that becomes a nice fridge magnet or decoration for the wall or bulletin board. No. It must be something dynamic that you live into. To do this:
- Review it often. Let it become a part of who you are.
- Put flesh on it. What do you need to do for it to be a reality? Be diligent in acting on it.
- Pray over it. Ask God for wisdom and strength to live it.
You can fulfill your this purpose. Simply remember that you are not an ornament. You are not a side show or an optional extra. You are God’s creation endued with purpose. It’s time to be busy fulfilling your God-given purpose.
For we are what he has made us, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand to be our way of life (Ephesians 2:10).
Living fully. Living faithfully. Following Christ.
